Dear Colleagues,

I want to draw your attention to a Plant Sciences seminar I am hosting tomorrow:

"Pattern formation on pollen surface: The case of apertures" by Dr. Anna Dobritsa, Ohio State University

An abstract of the talk and the flyer is attached; seminar will be in Marley 230 @4pm.

Dr. Dobritsa's talk will address an intriguing question in developmental biology: how can biomolecules self-assemble without a template?  This question is vividly captured in the attached confocal image of Arabidopsis pollen wall which shows exquisite patterns. She uses Arabidopsis pollen wall to begin addressing this question, to gain a molecular and cell biological perspective.
