Dr. Karen Sears is the final candidate to interview for the position in Adaptation Genomics, and she will be here tomorrow and Friday, April 21-22. Dr. Sears received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2003 and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She studies gene networks to determine how developmental variation interacts with environmental factors to produce congenital malformations in humans and new evolutionary adaptations in mammals.
Dr. Sears's seminar "From genome to phenome: Insights into adaptation from mammalian development" is on April 21 @ 12:30-1:30pm in Koffler 216 (Abstract: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1myel-FgSR3fLG7cm7kTfIL2Eonroa8o7tUs8TJ90MNw/edit?usp=sharing ).
