[Plantsci] UA4Food Drive Underway - Ways to Give

The UA4Food Faculty & Staff drive is underway, and our help is needed now
more than ever. Because of federal cuts in food assistance, the Community
Food Bank is over two million pounds of donated food behind last year. The
people most vulnerable are those who are unemployed, underemployed, and
seniors whose savings have run out. Forty percent of the clients the food
bank serves are children.

 

There are several convenient ways to give:

 

Give online <http://ua4food.arizona.edu/make_a_donation>  through the
UA4Food website

 

Write a check payable to the Community Food Bank and send it to the
Community Food Bank, PO Box 26727, Tucson, AZ  85726-6727. Please note
UA4Food on the memo line.

 

 

Bring food to a drop off location near you (PLANT SCIENCES BUSINESS OFFICE -
FORBES 303), other locations to donate are the UA Visitor Center, Swede
Johnson Lobby, or Administration Building Room 221G.

 

Deliver food to the "Stuff the CatTran" event sponsored by the Staff
Advisory Council and Parking & Transportation Services, on Wednesday, April
4 from 5:30 am to 7:00 pm. The CatTran will be stationed at the intersection
of University Blvd. and Cherry. Vehicles can pull right up to the curb to
deliver food. This event culminates the UA4Food Faculty & Staff Drive.

 

The most needed foods are: peanut butter, cereal, canned meats, canned
vegetables and soup.

 

Monetary donations to the Community Food Bank may be eligible for an Arizona
working poor tax credit. Consult your tax advisor.
