message once, asking them to accept a new Security Certificate. This is
expected; please accept the new certificate and continue with the
connection.
* See below for additional optional information about Security
Certificates.
* If you do not use VPN, this announcement does not affect you.
Planned Operation: UITS will replace the current Security Certificate with a
new VPN Security Certificate on Tuesday evening, March 27, 2012.
Additional Information:
* This operation should not cause any downtime.
* This information is ONLY for users who connect to UA networks using
UA's Cisco AnyConnect VPN software.
* This does not affect computers on campus or any campus WiFi
connections.
* To learn more about using VPN for off campus connections, please

What is a Security Certificate and why should I care?
A Security Certificate is a file that confirms the identity of a network
connection. It verifies that data being exchanged over a network is from the
intended source. Use of UA's Security Certificate assures users that they
are connected to the genuine University network and not an impostor posing
as the University.
By accepting the UA certificate, you add UA to the list of trusted
connections that your computer acknowledges and approves.
