Hello All,

The Office of the Provost and the Senior Vice President for Business Affairs
(Dr. Jacquelyn Mok and Milton Castillo) have issued a memo regarding the
significant changes to international travel for UA business. The memo is
attached. The new policies and procedures go into effect on April 1, 2012.

This policy per the Provost and the Senior Vice President of Business
Affairs must be adhered to in order to be reimbursed for your travel
expenses, be covered by applicable insurance programs, if applicable receive
UA academic credit, receive available University assistance in the event of
an emergency while traveling, avoid significant personal fines, avoid
disciplinary action and/or limitations on future UA travel, and adhere to
related applicable UA, State, and Federal Policies.

A recap of the memo and some important data:

. A Travel Authorization must be on file in the Admin Office of the
School of Plant Sciences before the trip. Please work with Laura deSteiguer
in our office.

. Travel Itinerary Registration - an on-line system has been
established for travelers to provide their travel dates and locations in
advance of their trip. This is a mandatory registration. Please see the
attached memo for more information.

. Restricted Travel Areas.

o Travel to these countries is prohibited: Iran and Syria

o Travel to these countries needs approval and coordination from Export
Control and licensed by the appropriate government agency: Cuba, Libya,
North Korea and the Sudan.

Please read the attached memo for clarification on this policy which will go
into effect on 04.01.12. And let me know if you have any questions.

My staff will be ready to coordinate and adhere to these news rules.

Sincerely

Donna-Rae
