SIXTH STREET TO BE CLOSED NEAR UA FOUR WEEKENDS IN JUNE/JULY

Over the last few weeks, concrete caisson foundations have been dug and
poured 45 feet underground along 6th Street, south of Arizona Stadium. Now
it's time to put up the 55 ft. tall steel pipe columns and structure which
will support the video scoreboard.

Over three weekends, the steel columns and framing structure will be
delivered and erected into place by two large cranes sitting in 6th St. Due
to the size of the columns and cranes, for safety reasons, 6th St. will be
closed to thru traffic, but business and University access will remain.

Traffic Map:

Motorists will be advised at Campbell and Euclid to detour to Speedway or
Broadway as alternatives. Visitors to 6th St. businesses and the University
will be detoured through campus, around the construction area.

Sixth Street will be closed to thru traffic:
4:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25th to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26th
4:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2nd to 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 4th

There will be two additional weekend closures for which the dates have not
yet been determined.
