Hi Maryam,
Thanks for sharing this. Basing my review on the *IRC draft
27apr25-ddb *document,
my only comments for consideration pertain to Resolution 4: *"Commit to
inclusive knowledge co-production that involves Indigenous Peoples."*
I would encourage tweaking this language, as "involving" Indigenous Peoples
doesn't fully capture the idea of co-equal partnerships explicit to the
concept of "knowledge co-production" and it could afford an easy avenue for
delegates to pay mere lip service through "consultation".
Perhaps something to the effect of: *"Commit to inclusive knowledge
co-production that upholds Indigenous Peoples' right to self-determination,
ensuring their equal participation, leadership, and ownership in all stages
of the process."*
Additionally, the following sentence is fairly long and would benefit from
being broken up (additional copy edit tweaks included below).
*"to actively encourage all delegates to respectfully recognize the value
of indigenous and local knowledge and acknowledge Indigenous Peoples as the
custodians of that knowledge. Furthermore, support to development of
solutions that are recognized by diverse stakeholders and that specifically
address reflect the aspirtions aspirations of Indigenous Peoples. and
effectively bridge the knowledge gap about rangelands and pastoralism
through a decade of action on co-production of new knowledge." *
Cheers,
Matt
