[IYRPsupportgroup] Who from the IYRP2026 alliance will be at UNCDD COP16 in Riyadh this December?

The UNCDD COP16 wil be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in December 2024. Several people and organisations involved in the IYRP2026 alliance are planning to be there and are organising or contributing to various side events. At the meeting yesterday of the IYRP Global Coordination Group, we decided that Fiona Flintan (ILRI) will be the focal person for the IYRP2026 alliance at COP16. She will coordinate activities to draw attention to the IYRP2026, working closely with a communications consultant, and will collect news about such activities to share more widely through social media, the IYRP2026 mailing list and our website. 

Fiona is trying to get an overview of who from the IYRP2026 alliance is planning to attend COP16 and what you plan to do there. She is setting up a WhatsApp group to facilitate communication between those of you who will be attending, and would like to know whether you want to be in the WhatsApp group.

Because not all the members in the WGs and RISGs are in this IYRP International Support Group mailing list, will you please share this mail with your group members so that we can be sure to reach everyone who might be going to Riyadh?

The COP16 provides an excellent opportunity to promote the interests of the IYRP2026, so please join forces with Fiona and each other at this event!
