Dear Maryam,
I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the wisdom, profound knowledge, and
generous understanding you've shared with me and the global community
dedicated to rangelands and pastoralists. Your contributions were
instrumental in shaping the International Year of Rangelands and
Pastoralists (IYRP). This achievement owes much to your visionary
leadership, remarkable capacity to mobilize for action, and unwavering
dedication.
The numerous and powerful messages pouring in from around the world stand
as a testament to your outstanding leadership. I not only wish to
acknowledge this but also emphasize the uniqueness and nuanced aspects of
your leadership style and underlying philosophy. Many of us are left in
wonder, asking, 'How does Maryam accomplish all this?' It's your
exceptional personality, deep-rooted belief in fundamental human values,
and your philanthropic spirit that have inspired and transformed us all to
varying degrees. As a result, your legacy will endure and continue to
nourish the world's rangelands and the mobility of pastoralists. What
better way to ensure sustainability!
With fond gratitude
elisabeth
