[IYRPsupportgroup] Re Pre-UNFSS dialogue by the FCDC

Dear Members for the IYRP support group.

 

I wish to bring to your attention the pre-UNFSS dialogue forum that has been
convened by Concern Worldwide and members and partners of CELEP. The
dialogue is led by the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC). 

The participants for this will include the UN agencies, Governments at the
national and county levels, donors, investors, development partners,
pastoralists representatives, INGOs and Local NGOs. It is scheduled for
Tuesday 18th 2021. 

 

In terms of how we support, the following have been assigned for note taking
and supporting moderation:

1.	Group 1: Pastoralist as a sustainable food system - Dorina and
Hassan Olow
2.	Group 2: Leveraging on enabling and coherent legal and policy
frameworks to anchor pastoralism: Ken and Charles Opiyo
3.	Group 3: Incentivize food systems' change towards equitable market
access among pastoralist: Beldine and Jacquiline 
4.	Group 4: Ending food insecurity and malnutrition through sustainable
multi-sectoral platforms: Kamar, Edwin and Nicholas
5.	Group 5: Financing instruments for food systems in a pastoralist
set-up: Sari and Maureene Atieno
