The IYRP Working Group on Pastoralist Youth is celebrating International Youth Day on Monday 12 August with a webinar on youth engagement in pastoralism.

Purpose: To discuss youth engagement, share strategies and celebrate the role of youth in the International Year of Rangelands & Pastoralists (IYRP)

Date & time: 12 August 2024 @ 11:00–12:50 CEST

Agenda:

11:00   Welcome and introduction

11:05   Voices of pastoralist youth (+ Q&A session)

12:00   Youth engagement in pastoralism: sharing experiences and strategies (involving other IYRP Working Groups)

12:15   Linking the IYRP 2026 and the World Cup 2026

12:25   Initial discussion of formation of a global pastoralist youth network

12:35   Open discussion: views and suggestions for enhancing youth involvement in pastoralism

12:45   Closing remarks and next steps
