[IYRP General List] IYRP 2026 approved

Dear Friends and Supporters of IYRP

It is with a distinct pleasure that I can inform you that today, the UN
General Assembly formally designated 2026 as the International Year of
Rangelands and Pastoralists!

Our sincere thanks to the Government of Mongolia for leading the way, to
FAO for their steadfast support, and to all of you who have supported this
process through the long journey. In the end 67 other governments formally
joined with Mongolia to co-sponsor this resolution.

Now the hard work really begins: We have 4 years to design, prepare and
implement a spectacular and impactful IYRP 2026!

widely, and also go to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to spread the news,
using @iyrp2026 .
