*UN process for designation of IYRP nearing its end*

The Government of Mongolia’s proposal on IYRP 2026 has been smoothly
negotiated by the UN Member States this month and a draft resolution
entitled "International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, 2026" has been
submitted to the UN General Assembly Secretariat. The draft resolution is
now expected to be formally adopted by the UN General Assembly sometime in
February or March 2022. We are grateful to the Mongolian Government for
their steadfast leadership.

*Mark Calendars: New Dates for IYRP Events at the SRM 2022 Annual Meeting*

The International Affairs Committee (IAC) of the Society for Range
Management (SRM) and the IYRP ISG (International Support Group for the
International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists) will convene two virtual
workshops at the 75th Annual Meeting of SRM *23th and 24th February 2022, 9
am - 11 am Eastern Standard Time USA.* These workshops will engage IYRP
stakeholders worldwide in preliminary deliberations to identify regional
and global priority actions associated with 12 global themes identified by
the IYRP ISG. Many of the Regional IYRP Support Groups (RISG) are drafting
examples of priority actions relevant to their regions which will be
discussed in the workshops.  The workshops will have simultaneous
translation in English, Spanish and French.

There will also be an IYRP Symposium on *22nd February, 9 am - 2pm Eastern
Standard Time USA* that will bring voices of scientists and pastoralists on
key issues affecting rangelands and pastoralists around the world.

Please note that the deadline to apply for free registration for IYRP
stakeholders has been *changed* to *2nd February 2022.*  Here is the link

*Processus des Nations Unies pour la désignation de IYRP*

La proposition du gouvernement de la Mongolie concernant IYRP 2026 a été
négociée en douceur par les États membres des Nations unies ce mois-ci et
un projet de résolution intitulé "Année internationale des parcours et des
pasteurs, 2026" a été soumis au secrétariat de l'Assemblée générale des
Nations unies. Le projet de résolution devrait maintenant être
officiellement adopté par l'Assemblée générale des Nations unies en février
ou mars 2022. Nous sommes reconnaissants au gouvernement mongol pour son
leadership inébranlable.

*Événements de IYRP à la réunion annuelle de la SRM 2022*

Le comité des affaires internationales (IAC) de la Society for Range
Management (SRM) et le groupe de soutien international de l'Année
internationale des parcours et des pasteurs (IYRP ISG) organiseront deux
ateliers virtuels lors de la 75e réunion annuelle de la SRM les 23 et 24
février 2022, de 9 h à 11 h, heure de l'Est des États-Unis. Ces ateliers
engageront les parties prenantes du IYRP dans le monde entier dans des
délibérations préliminaires pour identifier les actions prioritaires
régionales et mondiales associées aux 12 thèmes mondiaux identifiés par le
GSI de IYRP. De nombreux groupes de soutien régionaux de IYRP (RISG) sont
en train de rédiger des exemples d'actions prioritaires pertinentes pour
leurs régions, qui seront discutées lors des ateliers.  Les ateliers
bénéficieront d'une traduction simultanée en anglais, espagnol et français.

Il y aura également un symposium du IYRP le *22 février, de 9 h à 14 h,
heure de l'Est des États-Unis*, qui permettra aux scientifiques et aux
pasteurs de s'exprimer sur des questions clés concernant les terres de
parcours et les pasteurs du monde entier.

Veuillez noter que la date limite de demande d'inscription gratuite pour
les parties prenantes du IYRP a été modifiée au *2 février 2022.*  Voici le

*Proceso de la ONU para la designación del IYRP*

La propuesta del Gobierno de Mongolia sobre el IYRP 2026 ha sido negociada
sin problemas por los Estados miembros de la ONU este mes y se ha
presentado a la Secretaría de la Asamblea General de la ONU un proyecto de
resolución titulado "Año Internacional de los Pastizales y los Pastores,
2026". Ahora se espera que el proyecto de resolución sea adoptado
formalmente por la Asamblea General de la ONU en algún momento de febrero o
marzo de 2022. Agradecemos al Gobierno de Mongolia su firme liderazgo.

*Eventos del IYRP en la Reunión Anual de la SRM 2022*

El Comité de Asuntos Internacionales (IAC) de la Sociedad para la Gestión
de Pastizales (SRM) y el ISG del IYRP (Grupo de Apoyo Internacional para el
