[Iyrp-gcg] First FAO Sub Committee on livestock, march 2022

Dear all,

As you may know, the first session of the COAG Sub committee on livestock will be held on 16-18 March 2022.
The rules and qualifyers for attending are aligned with the COAG's ones: Member States and Organizations with an Observers' agreement are allowed to attend the official sessions. Discussion and information papers are beeing prepared.  The General Secretary of this sub committee is Badi Besbes, Head of NSAG branch.

In agreement with Badi, I would like to inform you in advance that a call for side event's proposals should be open by the end of this year, hopefully. Nor the final number of side events, or the level of competition are known, yet. However, given the global agenda related to the IYRP and the expected resolution of the UNGA, a proposal coming from the IYRP support group and putting at the forefront pastoralisme + sustainable livestock and/or biodiversity would be welcomed.

Should the GSG members decide to propose a side event, we would need to identify the co-organizers (Mongolia for example?) and the pitch, then the programm.
This is only for information and reflection for now ; Gregorio and I will share the call for proposals.
