I wanted to pass along a Request for Information<https://datacenters.google/water-rfi/> (RFI) from Google seeking potential proposals related to water replenishment with a focus on specific priority watersheds. Since the University of Arizona is located near the Lower Colorado River Basin watershed, a group at UofA could be eligible to apply. They are looking for information on both shovel‑ready and early‑concept projects capable of becoming operational before 2030 so this would likely require partnerships with localities/utilities/industry. Google will then invite full proposals to co-fund after reviewing responses. Respondents can submit information under infrastructure, agriculture, or nature-based solutions categories. This RFI likely has to do with increased water concerns related to data centers, though that is not directly mentioned in the RFI.



RFI submissions are due on April 30, 2026, at 5:00 pm PDT.
