Dear Colleagues,
Career & Academic Services has launched our Annual CALES Undergraduate Student Experience Survey. This survey provides students in the college with an important opportunity to share their experiences and expectations. Your encouragement to participate would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a high-level overview of what is covered:
* Major discovery and changes
* Modality preferences and accessibility
* Academic Advising
* Digital engagement (websites, social media, newsletters, etc.)
* Student services such as the CALES Career Center, Wellness services, Learning Lab, CALES Pulse, and more!
* General student support and satisfaction
We use this data to plan and adjust our services to students. For example, we used this data to adjust our event times, re-vamp our college-wide newsletters, improve advisor training and services, and more. After the full analysis is complete, units may request data specific to their students, assuming enough students have responded from that unit.
The survey is anonymous and testing by students indicates that it takes anywhere between 10-20 minutes to complete the survey. Students who complete the survey will have the opportunity to go to a separate instrument to enter a raffle to win one of six prize bundles. This will ensure that their responses remain anonymous. We aim to have strong participation from our students attending Arizona Online and Near You Network Campuses, and prizes will be mailed to students who are not located in Tucson.
What we request from you:
A PPT slide and flier are attached so that you can post them in your D2L announcements, in classes, etc. The PPT slide is easily insertable into your slide decks for class as students enter the classroom and/or open content in D2L. Please include one or both attached resources in your CALES courses and encourage students to complete the survey. If you teach a course that does not have a majority of CALES students taking it, please still share the link. We want them to see that we care about our students by listening and acting.
Our goal is to have at least 775 CALES students take the survey this year. This gives us a strong response rate that will allow us to learn from our students, celebrate our success, and take action to continue to improve our services to our students. Our team needs your help to get there!
Thank you for your participation in encouraging students to share their voices. If you have any questions, please contact Danielle Flink at danielleflink at arizona.edu<mailto:danielleflink at arizona.edu>.
Best,
Jim
