[Faculty] Trellis Progress Reports

Good Moring CALES Faculty-

Over the past year some of you may have heard about our partnership with Salesforce and the tool they are building with UArizona called Trellis. Trellis has many features and one that I have been using more often of late is the Trellis Progress Report in the D2L gradebook (see screen shot). This is an intuitive tool that allows you to send system generated emails to students based on their progress on particular grade book items or select specific students based on your own criteria. In addition to the generated email which refers students to resources, you can add a personalized note that will include the students’ names etc. automatically. These emails are also stored int eh students advising record.


I have used the tool several times, and this weekend I sent two sets of emails out using Trellis Progress. The first email I sent out to students who are struggling as of the start of week four. In this email they were referred to support systems and I included a personalized note encouraging the students to come to office hours. The second email went to students who are doing exceptionally well in the course, and I included a note thanking them for their hard work so far. Both emails garnered quick responses from students.
