[Faculty] Welcome Ryan Daily as our new CALES Director of Student Wellness Initiatives

Everyone,

I am pleased to announce that Ryan Daily is stepping into the role of Director of Student Wellness Initiatives at CALES starting Monday, October 30th. With over two decades of dedicated experience in the field of mental wellness, Ryan brings a wealth of expertise to the CALES community.

As many of you know, Ryan launched the CALES Life Management program back in 2020, just one month before the pandemic radically altered campus-life.  In that role Ryan was employed directly by Campus Health and Campus Psych Services (CAPS), initially as a Life Management Counselor and later as a Life Management Counseling Supervisor leading a team of mental health Clinicians university-wide.

We are excited that Ryan has agreed to lead a new CALES Wellness Initiative.  Our goal with this appointment is to expand and deepen our commitment to student wellness, nurturing a campus culture that promotes well-being and resilience. Ryan will spearhead this initiative on two fronts. First, he will continue to provide personalized support to students, ensuring that their unique wellness needs are met. In parallel, Ryan will work towards fostering new CALES student wellness communities, extending the reach of our wellness programs to bolster student success.

Furthermore, Ryan will be working to strengthen collaboration with CALES staff and faculty, particularly in the domains of assessment, stress-prevention strategies, and early intervention. This collaborative effort will create wellness partnerships with our 10 academic departments and equip them with essential resources and training. Ryan will also collaborate more closely with each of our CAS student support areas to seamlessly integrate a wellness focus into the student experience (undergraduate and graduate). More details on this initiative's implementation will be forthcoming as we collaboratively build out the programs.

Ryan's office is just off the Forbes Building Lobby, in the Forbes 204 suite (along with the Career Center and the CALES Learning Lab).  Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Ryan as he embarks on this important role!
