Dear CALS Faculty,

RII has announced a Research Support Services Orientation workshop that will take place over two afternoons on September 15 and 16 (see below). Although this workshop is intended to familiarize new faculty with research services and processes, it will also be valuable for PhD level research scientists and office staff involved in any aspect of the topics listed in the announcement below. I also encourage more established faculty to consider attending as a general refresher. Please share this email and the announcement below with  anyone who might benefit from this workshop.

CALS will conduct a follow up workshop on October 14 focusing on college and division specific aspects of grants and contracts, grant preparation, compliance and research development services. You will receive additional information about this workshop in the coming weeks.

Announcing the September 2020
Research Support Services Orientation

RII invites the research community to attend a virtual Research Support Services Orientation designed to familiarize researchers, postdocs, and support staff with the available resources and infrastructure to support and grow their research programs. While designed for research personnel who are new to UArizona, all members of the research community are welcome to participate.
The orientation will be held virtually through Zoom on September 15th and 16th, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (see full agenda here<https://arizona.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=581a234b755a81f97b9443a54&id=df7a6d6620&e=39cd28a005>).
Units making presentations will include:

  *   Research Development Services
  *   Tech Launch Arizona
  *   Sponsored Projects & Contracting Services
  *   Procurement and Contracting Services
  *   Research Cores and Institutes
  *   Research Compliance Services
  *   Human Resources
