[Faculty] FW: Big Congratulations to Matt Mars!

I'm very pleased to share with you the attached press release, and the news that our own Prof. Matt Mars has been named the USDA's Western Region recipient of the 2020 Excellence in College and University Teaching Award for Food and Agricultural Sciences.   In normal times Matt would be at the APLU's annual meeting to receive the award.  This afternoon, he will be recognized via a virtual ceremony and awards presentation, along with the other recipients from across the country.

As you may know, these annual awards from the USDA are extremely competitive.  Having served on the national review committee before, I am enormously impressed by the dossiers and accomplishments of the nominees from land grant universities across the country.   To actually win one of these awards is a high honor.   So, a huge congratulations to Matt on this milestone recognition.
