Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to encourage you to consider running for a Faculty Senate position, representing our College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. As the note below indicates, UA is holding a runoff election because seats were not filled during the general election. There are two open spots for CALS faculty. This is a 2-year commitment (about 2 hours/month during the academic year). As a returning Senator, I can tell you that it's well worth the time to understand how the university works (and how it doesn't work), a chance to weigh in on topics that affect us all <http://facultygovernance.arizona.edu/faculty-senate/senate-functions> (recommend curricula, propose policies), and meet folks across CALS and the university, including our top administrators.

Happy to answer questions about the Senate or as always, take your comments/concerns to this group.

Regards

Melanie Hingle

Faculty Senator Representing the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences

2016-2020
