LIMTED SOLICITATION

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is accepting applications for the Summer Stipends Program<http://arizona.us8.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=b6ba9388f9c749678c5f1628d&id=52323ede81&e=9deae42247> to support full-time continuous work on a humanities project for two consecutive months during Summer 2017.

Summer Stipends support faculty pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. The program provides a $6,000 stipend to support projects in any stage of development with the potential to produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Applicants must be nominated by the University of Arizona through the process and deadlines outlined below.

Important Dates:

  *   NEH Summer Stipend Program<http://arizona.us8.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=b6ba9388f9c749678c5f1628d&id=b00cd733df&e=9deae42247> (optional): Wednesday, March 9, 2-3:30 pm.
Workshop will focus on elements of the submission process and sponsor guidelines to craft the strongest proposals.
  *   College/Institute review internal deadline: On or about April 15, 2016. Please consult with your Dean’s/Director’s office for specific date.
  *   Office for Research & Discovery internal review deadline: April 22, 2016
  *   Sponsor submission deadline: September 29, 2016
Pre-proposals will include:

  1.  2-3 page project description, to include the following sections:
     *   Project title
     *   Research and contribution: Provide overview of project. Describe intellectual significance and value to humanities. Explain basic ideas, problems, or questions to be examined.
     *   Work plan: Briefly describe methods based on a full-time two month work plan.
     *   Results: Briefly describe intended results.
  2.  Brief biosketch or abbreviated CV up to four pages. Include: 1) Current and past positions; 2) Education; 3) Awards and Honors; 4) Publications; 5) Other relevant activities and accomplishments; 6) Funding History for past five years.
