The Faculty Seed Grants Program (FSG) provides awards of up to $10,000 which are made on a competitive basis for projects involving research or other creative scholarly activity. The Program is intended to provide short-term, one-time support that will "jump start" worthwhile projects and result in data or work products that can be used in developing proposals for submission to extramural funding agencies or private contributors.

The International Research Development Grant (IRDG) provides travel support to tenured and tenure-eligible faculty for the development or continuation of international research. The award is limited to a maximum of $1,500 for airfare assistance only. Awards are not applicable to meals, lodging, conference fees, or other incidental travel expenses. Awards are not to directly cover the cost of travel to conferences. Funding is provided to tenured and tenured-eligible faculty; (i.e., those who have attained or are eligible to attain tenure or higher professorial rank). Professors emeriti and visiting faculty are not eligible for awards. Only current research projects of exceptional value or proposed research activity of exceptional promise will be funded.

the foundation will award one-year grants of up to $40,000 in support of gender-sensitive  social change projects that help low-income women in Israel achieve economic independence. Projects should be designed to develop the leadership skills and capabilities of adolescent girls and young women between the ages of 12 and 30 in the Jewish community. Gender-sensitive curricula and training programs that foster the leadership skills and capabilities of Jewish girls and young women also will be considered. Preference will be given to those organizations that have the capacity to provide training using this material on a regional or national basis.

Grants of up to $500,000 will be awarded for projects that work with artists and arts organizations to help build stronger, healthier communities anywhere in the United States. Eligible projects must focus on a neighborhood (or other geographic community) challenge related to that community in the areas of agriculture/food, economic development, education/youth, environment/energy, health, housing, immigration, public safety, transportation, or workforce development. Projects also must use artists, arts organizations, and/or arts activities to help address that challenge.

Awards are available supporting beginning researchers as well as accomplished nursing education scholars. The NLN is awarding three to five research grants up to $25,000 each to NLN individual members and faculty of NLN member schools.

Funds novel and useful basic, clinical, and translational research studies that attempt to solve the many questions surrounding interstitial cystitis, a painful chronic bladder condition. Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to the etiology of IC; serum or urine markers; treatment modalities; neurophysiology; pain management; pregnancy and IC; and/or diet and nutrition. One-year grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded in two equal installments of $25,000. In order to be eligible for the award, applicants must have a sponsoring institution, be able to complete the proposed project within a year, and must not hold other research awards for the same or a similar project.

The Opal Apple Youth Make a Difference initiative will award funding to youth-based initiatives serving their communities in the U.S. where youth, ages 6 – 25, take leadership roles in the initiative. We are looking for organizations seeking grant dollars in the range of $5,000 - $10,000. The initiatives chosen will address one or more issues of: Food security; Nutrition; Agriculture; Food politics and education.

American Psychological Foundation – Research on Gifted, Talented Youth<http://uafoundation.us11.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=d7da969976ad1054115e901b0&id=f69d94bf4c&e=00fae15e95>

Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to projects designed to advance and apply knowledge related to gifted and talented children and adolescents. These funds will be to support activities on the advancement and application of knowledge, including research, pilot projects, research-based programs, and projects aimed at improving the quality of education in psychological science and its application in secondary schools for high-ability students.

The foundation is accepting applications for its 2016 Innovation Generation grant program, which is designed to increase students’ skills in STEM and/or increase engagement in STEM career pathways. To that end, grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to support innovative and hands-on STEM programs that serve elementary through university students and teachers in the United States. Organizations seeking support for STEM education programming outside the U.S. should apply through the foundation’s international grant program.

The Epilepsy Foundation is accepting applications for its New Therapy Commercialization Grants Program, which aims to drive the development of new therapies for epilepsy, accelerating the advancement of research from the laboratory to the patient. To that end, the foundation funds innovative senior-level research projects with the potential to identify new treatment options and, ultimately, a cure. Grant amounts will be determined on a project-by-project basis. The foundation encourages one-to-one matching grants to academic and commercial entities to support the commercialization of novel approaches to the treatment of epilepsy. Preference will be given to proposals that already have a commercial partner engaged to assist with development and to proposals that have committed or matched funding from a sponsoring institution, commercial partner, or other third-party source. To be eligible, applicants must hold a relevant advanced degree (M.D., and/or Ph.D.) and have completed all research training.

Grants up to $17,000 are being offered to support early career psychologists conducting research in the area of early intervention and treatment for serious emotional disturbance in children. Partnered with APF, funding is aimed to empower early career psychologists to produce scientifically-based research and programs that could provide models for broad-based applications across the country.

The World of Children Award program was created to recognize individuals who make a difference ito n the lives of children in the United States and across the globe, regardless of political, religious, or geographical boundaries. The program awards grants to support proven, high-impact programs created by individuals for children that help ensure more children’s lives will be touched, improved, and changed forever. The World of Children Awards honors individuals in five categories -- Protection, Education, Humanitarian, Health, and Youth.

The foundation is seeking proposals for innovative research in leukemia.One-year grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to new and established investigators in support of laboratory, translational, or clinical research related to acute leukemia. Renewal of initial research support may be considered for one or more additional years based on productivity.

The society is accepting applications for its Pilot Grant Program, which funds high-risk pilot grants to test novel ideas that may serve to advance its mission of stopping MS progression, restoring function, improving quality of life, and preventing MS. The program supports fundamental as well as applied studies, non-clinical or clinical in nature, including projects in patient management, care, and rehabilitation.
One-year grants of up to $44,000 will be awarded to test innovative, cutting-edge ideas or untested methods, and to gather sufficient preliminary data that can be used to apply for longer-term funding.

Grants addressing inequality to create pathways to economic opportunity, particularly for women and people of color are available. Projects should focus on improving quality of life for the poor, a move toward greater equality of opportunity, and challenge structures and ideas that allow a vastly disproportionate share of the nation’s wealth to be concentrated in the hands of a few.

The annual program is designed to introduce medical students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in medicine to the discipline of radiation oncology early in their medical education. Although medical students in all years are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to first- and second-year students. In an effort to promote radiation oncology as a career choice, the fellowship will expose medical students to clinical, basic, and translational research questions in radiation oncology.

Thrasher Research Fund – Early Career Awards Grant Program<http://uafoundation.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d7da969976ad1054115e901b0&id=73c995c4bd&e=00fae15e95>

The fund is inviting concept papers for its Early Career Awards Grants program. Through the program, the fund awards small grants of up to $25,000 to new researchers to help them gain a foothold in the area of pediatric research. The program will consider a variety of research topics relevant to children's health. However, priority will be given to applicants who show great potential to impact the field of children's health through medical research. Both an applicant's aptitude and inclination toward research are considered. The program is open to physicians who are in a residency/fellowship training program or who completed a program no more than a year before the date of submission of the concept paper and postdoctoral researchers who received a doctoral-level degree no more than three years prior to the date of submission of the concept paper. Projects must have a mentor, but mentors may have only one Thrasher Research Fund Early Career awardee at a time.

Through its Joint Grant Awards Program, the foundation supports research of one to two years in duration that poses questions of high relevance to family medicine. The maximum award for JGAP grants is $50,000. Applications for smaller-scale studies with lower costs are also welcome. To be eligible, the principal investigator of the project must be a family medicine researcher — a clinician or Ph.D. In addition, the PI or one of the co-investigators must be a member of the AAFP. Priority will be given to new researchers and to those who mentor new investigators on the research team. Education and healthcare institutions or organizations that plan to use the JGAP support exclusively for research projects directly involving and impacting family medicine also are eligible.
