Dr. Sangita Pawar Appointed Assistant Dean for Research Administration at CALS


 


I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sangita Pawar as Assistant Dean for Research Administration in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona. Dr. Pawar will oversee daily operation of the CALS Research Administrative Services Office. 

Dr. Pawar received her PhD from the UA in Molecular and Cellular Biology and her MBA from the Eller School of Business. For the past six years, she has served as executive director of the UA College of Medicine Research Office, where she developed the research support infrastructure and was the key point of contact on all research related matters for faculty, students, medical residents and staff.

In her new position, Dr. Pawar will focus on maximizing faculty research productivity by enhancing College level research support services.  This will include developing web based research information and support infrastructure, faculty and staff training and workshops, grant proposal information portals, support for regulatory issues such as conflict of interest and animals in research, and support for the preparation of large and complex proposals. Dr. Pawar will also work with Lorinda Mills and her staff who will continue to oversee all grant support services.
