Dear Cooperative Extension Faculty,
It’s time for Faculty Council elections!
These elections are conducted within each unit, and it is the responsibility of the faculty—not the Unit Head—to ensure they take place, as outlined in the Faculty Council Charter. While the process may vary by unit, faculty governance requires active participation to maintain fair and transparent representation.
According to the Charter, "Members of the Faculty Council other than the Faculty Senators and the Dean shall have a membership term of two years, for no more than two consecutive terms. A Faculty member elected to Vice-Chair may have an additional year to serve as Chair the following year. Department Heads, School Directors, and other unit administrators are not eligible as faculty-elected unit representatives. Half of the elected unit representatives shall be up for election each year. Elections shall be conducted by the unit, with support from the Faculty Council Chair and Vice-Chair, at the end of the Spring Semester to determine representatives whose terms begin in the upcoming Fall Semester."
Cooperative Extension has two open seats this cycle, a one-year and a two-year term. Please cast your vote by Friday, May 23, 2025, using the link below:

The candidates have graciously agreed to serve, and I thank them for their willingness to contribute to the University of Arizona’s shared governance efforts.
Thank you for participating in this important process.
Best regards,
Ed
