Good afternoon!

The AZ DFFM Urban and Community Forestry Program is very pleased to announce a second round of Inflation Reduction Act funding. The theme is: Improving Urban Forest Conditions in Low-Canopy Communities for Heat Mitigation.

The Request for Proposals is live today, and the application portal will be open until Monday, May 5th, 2025 at 11:59pm Arizona time.

Activities aimed at prioritizing those most vulnerable by increasing tree canopy, long-term tree survival and stewardship, and career opportunities in the face of decreasing water availability, rising temperatures, and fast-paced urban development for residents will be prioritized.

A few important notes:
- Organizations with existing IRA funding may apply, but NOT for the same project.
- Grant awards will be $50,000 - $150,000 per project.
- Match is not required for this funding opportunity.
- Project work must be completed by December 31, 2026.
