[CED/CD/EAT] TIME SENSITIVE: FY26 Hiring Requests

Hi, Extension Business Officers:


As we discussed in our Extension Business Officers meeting yesterday, the process for submitting hiring plan requests for FY26 now underway. This is being done in alignment with the upcoming Anaplan in-year forecasting and the All-Funds Multi-Year (AFMY) process scheduled for early December. This year, any positions funded by unrestricted (State/NEI/designated and locally allocated) sources that are not already included in your unit's staffing plan must go through this request process.  Additionally, we’re asking that you forecast restricted hiring separately.


During our meeting I requested that you use the link below for all hires, but please send your anticipated restricted hiring to me separately on the Excel spreadsheet attached.

When submitting your funding requests, remember that each position requires a separate submission (e.g., if you are requesting two continuing track positions, you will need to submit twice). If you’re submitting multiple requests, make sure to rank them in order of priority so we can better understand your unit’s top needs.


Timeline*:

September 25th – CEDs and BOs can start entering ALVSCE Hiring Plan requests

October 4th - Deadline for all hiring requests (faculty and staff requests)

October 7th – 19th – Position review occurs

October 21st – EC meeting to discuss and approve hiring plan.

October 23rd – Announcements to units, and entry into Anaplan prior to ALVSCE meeting on 10/28 with Provost & CFO.

*Please note that timelines may shift slightly.


As you know, we will not be able to accommodate any hiring requests that exceed our current spending authority.
