Hello everyone - After I recirculated the precertification course registration forms last week, I received some great questions about other topics. The questions were
Q: When is the next Pesticide Safety Train-the-Trainer Workshop?
Q: How many Continuing Education Units (CEUs) do I have?
Q: Are there any online CEU courses scheduled before the end of the year?
Here are a few links and tips to help you find answers to the above questions.
Train-the-Trainer Workshops: The next AZDA pesticide safety Train-the-Trainer Workshop for people who would like to provide Worker Protection Standard training to agricultural fieldworkers and pesticide handlers will be provided online on September 24th. Details and registration information can be found on the page: https://agriculture.az.gov/trainingassistance/pesticide-safety-training/pesticide-safety-trainer-program
List of Accumulated CEUs: Agricultural and structural certified applicators and Pest Control Advisors can find a list of the Continuing Education Units they have accumulated by entering their certification number in the following search engines.
Agriculture: https://searchagriculture.az.gov/SearchAg/Home/CEUs
* After opening the page, click on the type of certification you hold (ex: PCA)
* Type in your certification number
* Click in the box titled, "Find hours"
Structural: https://opm.azda.gov/PCProfSearch.php
* After opening the page, type in your name or your certification number
* Click the box titled, "Search"
* Click on the question mark in the right column
* Click on the box titled, "calculate CE hrs"
Online CEU Courses: There are several groups and companies offering online CEU courses. Those approved for Arizona CEUs can be found through a search engine on the webpage: https://opmssl.azda.gov/ContinuingEducation/CEUClassSearch.php?ckset=ok
* After opening the page, select either agricultural or non-agricultural (which are approved for structural certified and qualified applicators)
* Click on "online only"
* Click "submit"
Additional notes: Many online course providers work with several states and offer both agricultural and structural recertification courses. Make sure the course you select is approved for Arizona and the appropriate industry. The structural CEU courses are often listed as "PMD" or "Pest Management Division." The agricultural CEU courses might be listed as "AG" or "ESD."
Some providers enter attendance data once a month. If you complete a course in late December (ag) or May (structural), print or save a copy of the course completion data. This might be in the form of a printable certificate on the final course screen or an email from the provider verifying course completion. Keep these records for your own files and proof if needed when you renew your certification.
Best of luck.
Jenny
