Dear Directors,

We spoke with you during our last CED meeting about carry-over and the new restrictions on spending for FY25. I must ensure you share this with your faculty and appropriate staff.

Any FY24 carry-over will not be available for spending this fiscal year. The University is not sweeping the funding but is not allowing us to spend these funds.

We are loading your allocated county funding for FY25, anticipating that your county carry-over will be available for you to spend.

I have had some faculty tell me that they were unaware of this new policy. Please explain to them this is a University policy and that the state office, which also had plans for spending carry-over funding, must revise our spending plan since this will not be available to us either. Unfortunately, this means we cannot cover many gaps for unit funds this year.

I know this is certainly a challenge for us all, and we will do all we can to assist, but please also keep in mind the state office is facing the same challenges.

Please ensure all faculty and appropriate staff are aware of this policy.

Regards,

Ed
