Hi, all.

  * We have updated the detailed progress reports for each county and again placed them now in each of the county survey folders within the UACE Needs Assessment Survey Distribution Materials<https://arizona.app.box.com/folder/172111611283?s=p5hajk34p99ix0ju543qpd7e6d98m267> Box folder. Look for a file named "SCENA-Survey-Progress-Update" with your county's name and Monday's date (e.g., SCENA-Survey-Progress-Update-SantaCruz-Oct31). We had initially said we'd do them every other week, but since we only have a couple of weeks left, we thought it would be useful to have them weekly.

  * With two weeks left, we want to be sure to try to get at least some representation from the various communities around the state. These reports provide you with information on *where* your respondents to date have come from, so that you can compare them to original geographic targets (listed in the report, and with zips and community names in the XX County Sampling Targets file in your county folder). These and the county demographic comparison can help you know where more targeted recruitment would help.

For anyone not affiliated with a county, there is also an overall state demographic comparison in the general Survey Distribution Packet folder entitled: SCENA-Survey-Progress-Update-State-Oct31<https://arizona.app.box.com/file/1054421378515>

  * I think it is a testament to the outreach you are doing that 1/3 of our respondents know little to nothing about Extension, and have not participated in an Extension event. Well done bringing in the perspectives of those outside of Extension!

  * In general, we are under-representing our non-White and non-American Indian population (that is, 5% of the folks responding to our survey report they are American Indian, similar to the proportion in the AZ population, and 68% report they are White, higher than the 61% of the state's population). We do have 6% who preferred not to answer and 3% who report another race or ethnicity.

  * Also, not surprisingly, given that we have asked that our faculty and staff and our professional stakeholders complete the survey, we are over-representing those with bachelor degrees and higher (62% of our sample, compared to 31% across the state). We can parse the data in various ways to address that.

  * We have seen that about 86% of those who start the survey complete at least half of it. However, about 6% don't get past the first page. As we plan for analyses, we will be able to produce county-level reports for any counties with at least 50 respondents who get past the first page (with caveats about the likely representativeness of the results with small numbers). Here is where things stand at the moment (the auto-updating report is here: https://bit.ly/uace2022results). We are getting more and more paper surveys scanned and mailed, and so have a bit of a bottleneck getting them entered, so they might not all show for your county yet.

  * As you know, to enable time for overall and more targeted recruitment we are extending the deadline for completing surveys to 14 November 2022. Please have paper surveys either mailed to us or uploaded by 21 November 2022.

As usual, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out via CRED at arizona.edu<mailto:CRED at arizona.edu> or join us at Needs Assessment "virtual office hours" Wednesdays between 1-2pm at: https://arizona.zoom.us/j/5206218739

Thanks,
Michele
