As you know by now, UACE is in the early stages of a Statewide Needs Assessment to understand community needs and assets across the state as a basis for prioritizing Extension activities to maximize our impact. This is a statewide effort, and we are counting on participation from UACE faculty and staff across counties, units, and program areas to make this a successful process. If you have already participated by submitting reports or key informant recommendations, thank you! If you have not, please visit this website: https://norton.arizona.edu/uace-needs-assessment-2022 and take a few minutes to contribute in the following ways (deadline July 15):



(1) Key Informant Interviews will be conducted beginning in August 2022 to collect qualitative data on local and statewide needs from informed sources. The CRED Team is aiming to complete 5-7 interviews per county and needs your help identifying key Extension partners, potential future partners, and representatives of harder-to-reach populations (e.g., immigrant urban farmers, families impacted by substance abuse) for these interviews. (2) Demographic and secondary data from existing sources are being assembled to identify state, tribal, and county-specific needs and assets across topic areas. The CRED team have already begun collecting existing, publicly-available reports, which can be viewed in this Box folder: https://arizona.box.com/s/6dsuke84uryjo2kthqgij47n8ylzwpec

This includes reports (2016 and later) from state agencies, commodity groups, non-profit organizations or others that identify needs and priorities statewide or regionally within Arizona. Additionally (and importantly!) this includes data summaries or reports you've generated with information on stakeholder needs in Arizona.



The next step of the Statewide Needs Assessment will be a stakeholder survey (anticipated to be in the field August-October 2022). More details on that process to come.
