[CED/CD/EAT] Question from admin - For Pima Co

Dear Ed,
Here are my responses for Pima County

  1. As others have mentioned, we cannot enforce masking requirements at 4H meetings not held at our facilities. We have instituted a 1 hour break between scheduled workshops/classes/meetings in our conference room to decrease exposures during the passing periods. We have also designated a waiting area outside so that people do not enter the room before their class starts, which has the potential to crowd the room and prevent social distancing. We are able to move many meetings onto zoom, but some indoor youth classes, particularly at TVF have been impacted - cancelled or postponed.

  1. We have had several staff isolating because of exposures or because they have gotten COVID. It is an ongoing issue, maybe 1 to 3 people per week, but so far we have not had to shut down any programs because of lack of staff.

  1. Yes, all those that are exposed but with a negative test, have been isolating for 5-7 days after exposure. In most cases this has not impacted program function. I would estimate this is 1-3 people per week.

Thanks,
Claire

Subject: [CED/CD/EAT] Question from admin

Dear Directors and ADs:

I was sent an email with some questions about COVID's impact on Extension programs, and I thought I would do a quick canvas to see if any of you had some input.

The questions are:

  1. Are you struggling to deliver on missions one way or another because of clinical COVID illness so severe - meaning that people literally can't work?
  2. Are you hearing of a lot of CES employees with SARS COV2 positive tests (i.e., SARS COV2 infection) who are required to take isolation/quarantine periods? Please include your definition of "a lot".
  3. Are you hearing of a lot of CES employees with SARS COV2 negative tests who are required to take isolation/quarantine periods because of familial exposure? Please include your definition of "a lot."

I will need to answer by the end of the day. My take is that there are a few instances but not what I would call a lot.

Let me know if you have any input on this.

Ed
