[CED/CD/EAT] Urgent request by COB 4/28 to Jeannie McClain please.

Academic unit heads, CEDs, and business officers, over the years I have had complaints from faculty that they do not know how CEDs, and academic unit heads chose faculty search committee members (the very definition of a faculty-self and shared governance processes) and that the faculty on search committees do not reach out to their colleagues to get input on the searches. These issues were raised at this week's FC meeting. I want to get some objective data from you before my next steps please.

By COB 4/28, could you please email the following to Jeannie McClain?


  1.  The documents that CEDs and academic unit heads use, as the hiring managers, to charge their search committees and ensure that the committees are confidential and are following UA policies and best practices; to ensure that search committee members are communicating with unit faculty, and for formally discharging the committee at search completion.


  1.  The URL(s) you are using for searches you have on ongoing now, or the last one that you had, which shows who is on the search committee and has links to the job description and all of the search committee members names as well as the information you provide describing the mechanisms for nominating candidates during the recruiting process.
