[CED/CD/EAT] Continuity of Operations

Dear ALVSCE Leaders,

Please take time now to review and revise the Continuity of Operations Plan<https://cirt.arizona.edu/content/continuity-operations-plan> (COOP) in your unit, including re-communicating the roles and responsibilities with critical personnel and backup personnel.  COOPs were submitted in 2020, at the start of the pandemic, to sustain critical functions during emergency and unplanned disruptions.  Changes to your COOP will require submitting a new COOP through the University's system.

While we do not have certainty about the consequences for employees who do not comply with the University's vaccine requirement<https://hr.arizona.edu/content/employee-covid-19-vaccine-requirement>, we must prepare for some level of workplace disruption.  Couple this with the overall higher-than-normal staff turnover experienced over the last 12 months and we have a scenario that requires our preparation.  COVID-19 and remote operations have also taught us many things, which warrant updating your plan.

Original copies of completed COOPs are archived in the unit.  In a pinch, Division Business Services (DBS) may have a copy if it was shared with us.  If you revise your COOP, please share a copy with Carolina Sborja<mailto:Hoshino%20Sborja,%20Carolina%20-%20(carolinasborja)%20%3ccarolinasborja at arizona.edu%3e> in DBS as a backup.

This review may prompt questions about the vaccine requirement.  Leaders must not ask about vaccination status, even of personnel assigned critical functions in the COOPs.
