Good Morning,

Today is Arizona Gives Day and the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation is asking for you to again donate in support of high-quality positive youth development experiences for Arizona 4-H youth. Last year each of you responded with gusto in support of the Arizona 4-H and Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation, thank you!!! I hope this year you will do the same.

The 20,000 True Leaders by 2025 Arizona 4-H journey is a long arc, one that has been recently incredibly challenging in the face of COVID, and yet we know that investment is even more important. The Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation has been an important partner in continuing investments and ensuring we are able to navigate our current environment:

  * Invested in covering the costs of up to 30 youth to attend virtual CWF in Summer 2021 (29 spots still available).
  * Invested resources into James 4-H Camp, to upgrade the director's cabin and putting in new staff cabins and filling a budget gap in an insurance claim for new roofs.
  * Invested in our youth by increasing the amount of money provided to youth represent Arizona 4-H at all national educational events and contests, and are prepared to cover the increased costs of the youth on hold at this point.
  * Invested in the state 4-H ambassador program, which has been running successfully this year!
  * Invested in bringing Temple Grandin to the Clover Ball and Arizona 4-H Presents in 2020; and, Lazarus Lynch for 2021.
  * Invested in 3 year plans to help us bring statewide resources to the Arizona 4-H program with salary for the Associate in Extension, 4-H Curriculum Development; which allowed us to re-allocate resources to establish the Program Coordinator, State 4-H Events and Projects.
  * Invested in themselves by hiring a professional team comprised of Deb Lester and Dr. Nick Morris to continue to build relationships and resources for Arizona 4-H at the state and local level.
  * Invested in COVID-19 responsive COVID programming (i.e. Arizona 4-H Showdown, Engaged Citizens Event, Emerging Leaders Event, STEM YOUniversity, Volunteer Training).
  * Invested in our volunteers by providing funding for DPS background check fees for authorized 4-H adults (details to come for 4-H Year 2021-2022).
  * Invested in long-term financial support of the Arizona 4-H program by establishing the "Empowering Today's Youth" special 4-H license plate bill!

I hope you will join me in making a gift to the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation so that we can bring high quality positive youth development experiences to Arizona 4-H youth, who need it now more than ever.
