Hourly employees not at work should record their time as “University Release” in their timesheets. If sick, record it as sick.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get this email you Patricia. I know that this will contradict what I told you earlier today.

My advice is that Sam put out a message to his customers saying something to the effect that he needs to stop processing until he can get a coronavirus mitigation plan in place. This may take him as short a time as a day or maybe even less—I recommend he try to find out what other plants, especially academic ones, are doing. As soon as he has a plan ready to go then I see no reason not to continue. There is no reason that anyone “approve” it. He is the most qualified to know. I’d like others on this email chain input please, especially Jeff S for 4H animals.

If his students are there as a part of education then it’s clear that they cannot be there. I have no idea about the student club students selling meat—do you Mike?

Parker, your advice please if students are there as a part of research and also on other research aspects.

Employees are responsible for their own health but I do strongly advise those of higher risk take the CDC’s advice. Jeffrey, please advise on how we can pay hourly workers who chose not to be there.

Regards

Shane

Remember, we’re working together to provide the best examples we can to “flatten the curve” so our healthcare system is not overwhelmed. If we do everthing right, “nothing will happen” – and that is the whole point.
