Subject: Whistleblower Awareness and Compliance Training Reminder

At the University of Arizona we strongly value integrity, which is about being honest, respectful, and just. We aim to maintain a high level of ethical behavior as well as compliance with rules and regulations.
Given the importance of these principles, we have developed a new Whistleblower Awareness Training for all employees. We ask that you complete this brief training (click here<http://bit.ly/uareports>) and that you please encourage your faculty and staff to complete it also.
In addition, please remind your faculty and staff that other trainings are mandatory and a condition of employment. For a full list of compliance trainings, please click here<https://compliance.arizona.edu/training>.
Key mandatory trainings include:

  *   Title IX training<https://titleix.arizona.edu/training> is required of all faculty and staff every year.
  *   Discrimination and Harassment training<https://equity.arizona.edu/training/online-training> is required every other year.
  *   Faculty and staff who access student information systems or student records must first complete FERPA training<https://www.registrar.arizona.edu/personal-information/ferpa-tutorial>.
  *   Investigators and research administrators must complete Conflict of Interest Required Disclosure Training<https://rgw.arizona.edu/compliance/conflict-interest-program> according to the schedule specified in the Individual Conflict of Interest in Research Policy<https://policy.arizona.edu/research/individual-conflict-interest-research>.

The following research compliance trainings may be mandatory depending on the type of research:

  *   Investigators, staff, and students who participate in IRB-approved human subjects research protocols must complete Human Subjects training<https://rgw.arizona.edu/compliance/human-subjects-protection-program/hspp-training>, and may also need to complete HIPAA training<https://rgw.arizona.edu/compliance/hipaa-privacy-program/hipaa-training-certification> if the research involves Protected Health Information.
  *   Investigators, staff, and students who work with vertebrate animal species must complete applicable Animal Subjects training<https://rgw.arizona.edu/compliance/IACUC/Personnel> as specified in the protocol approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
  *   All lab personnel must complete applicable lab safety training<https://rgw.arizona.edu/compliance/RLSS> as specified in protocols approved by the Biosafety, Chemical Safety and/or Radiation Safety programs.
