Subject: New CALS Policy for Changing Tracks

Good morning, I am very pleased to announce that a new CALS policy has been approved for posting by the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs. This policy will guide the transfer of career-track (NTE) faculty to tenure-track or continuing-track positions.

The procedure is straightforward – preparation of a dossier by the candidate, followed by a faculty vote in the candidate’s home department, followed by transfer of the dossier and vote results to the dean, then provost.

Please take note of the bolded statement near the bottom of page 1 – this policy is to be enacted only under exceptional and rare circumstances. Following that statement, examples of such circumstances are provided.

This policy should be posted on the CALS website very shortly.
