Subject: CALS Service Review Criteria

Good afternoon,

On August 23, 2017, each of you received a memo from Dean Burgess asking you to develop unit criteria for evaluation of the service commitment now inserted into the position description for each CALS faculty, agent, and specialist. A copy of the original memo is attached. I have also attached criteria developed by the UA Colleges of Science and Engineering that may be useful as you move forward in this endeavor. An excerpt from Dean Burgess’ memo reads:

Promotion/Annual Performance Review Criteria: By May 30, 2018, each unit must review their promotion and annual performance review criteria to make needed revisions for evaluating service.

This email will serve as a reminder of the May 30 deadline, and to offer my assistance and/or guidance if needed.
