Hi, all:

This is being forwarded on behalf of Dr. Silvertooth.

Below is a tentative timeline for the upcoming salary adjustments. As you can see below, the Unit Heads will be most heavily involved in the process from 7/11/16 through 8/5/16 and unit business officers from 8/8/16 to 8/22/16.

We'll be sending worksheets soon. Please contact me with any questions.

And, happy Year-End Eve.

Thank you,

Carolyne A. Greeno | Manager, Finance and Administration [Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: http://redbar.web.arizona.edu/logos/images/thumb_pawprints.gif]

Subject: Waterfall approach to salary adjustments
I met with Carolyne Greeno, Belinda Oden, and Brian Berrellez today to get a better handle on a funding waterfall that is necessary for the salary adjustments. This waterfall is essentially a prioritization of the funding at each stage to allow us to determine the target amounts for distribution. IT DOES NOT CHANGE THE PROCESS OF DETERMINING MARKET OR MERIT THAT CES AND UNIT HEADS ARE DEVELOPING (not yelling, just want to avoid confusion). The timeline we are working on is tight and will require we begin implementing even before we receive approval from the Provost to put in place the salary adjustments by the September deadline.

Waterfall Order of Funding Decisions to Determine Targets

1. $500 will be assessed to all FTE

2. Equity determinations for faculty titles: Brian is finishing the two standard deviations dashboard by July 8 and allow Cristina to run the analyses for all ranks of professor, agent, and specialist titles

3. Market determinations by unit leaders: faculty using AAU determinations, staff and appointed assessed through university-wide data for the same titles

4. Merit determinations: must determine each piece of the funding to get to a bottom line distribution

a. Funding by division (CES, AES, T&R)

b. Administrators (Dean's reports)

c. Administrative units (Extension Admin, CCT, CAS, Research Admin, etc.)

d. Units

e. Employee types

Please let's discuss if you have different ordering. Most salary dollars will be meted out in steps 1-3. The merit portion is likely to be the smallest portion of funds, at least in this year's salary process.
