Dear Colleagues:

If you are going up for promotion in the coming year or planning to 
serve on a review committee, please see the attached memo and /Guide to 
the Promotion Process/.  Our provisions for reviews for tenure, 
promotion and continuing status are shaped by input from our University 
Advisory Committees on Promotion and Tenure and Promotion and Continuing 
Status, and also by input from faculty from across campus.  As noted on
