Norton School personnel:

I am thrilled to be able to announce that Dr. Jana Hawley has accepted the directorship of the John and Doris Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences.  Her appointment will be effective January 5, 2015.

With a broad background in textile management, production and technologies, as well as a sound understanding of both the Land Grant University mission and specifically the national history of schools like ours, Jana has served as a faculty member at the University of Missouri, Kansas State University, the University of North Texas and Indiana University.  She became chair of the Department of Textile and Apparel Management at the University of Missouri in 2010 and has a commitment to global sustainability and trans-disciplinary research.  Professor Hawley has the excellent leadership, management and team-building skills, and most importantly the energy, passion and commitment we need to meet our future challenges.  I know you will join me in wishing her well in this new position.  I look forward to welcoming Jana to campus in January.
