Hi everyone,
As a reminder, the Visioning committee would like to receive your Focus
Group report by the end of September to allow us to construct the mailout
survey in a timely fashion.
If you need a copy of the PPT we are using for the focus groups sent out
again, please let me know. We have one version for the older Turning Point
software and one version for the newest software.
Pasted below is more intstruction for using the PPT and the clickers which I
have sent to other counties who have borrowed the clickers from Gila County.
_____
Here is the PowerPoint I put together for Gila County; it will not work on
the older version of the Turning Point software. It will only work with the
new software that will be used with the clickers you are borrowing. You may
want to change the introductory slides (1-13). Slides 14 and 15 are for
teaching people how to use the clickers. Slides 16 to 20 are for the voting.
You will need to have someone enter content in the PPT questions as the
groups pick their top choices. After entering the content, then you will
need to reset the slide (not the show!) to reset the bar graph to zero.
Then, you will have people vote on the choices (see other documents we
emailed to the CED list on 7/23/13. Please note that voting will not
activate until you are in the screen show function and have the Turning
Point receiver inserted into a USB port of your computer. You will click
your mouse or slide advancer about 3 times per slide for each vote: 1. Click
to advance to new slide; 2. Click to turn voting light from red to green; 3.
Click to activate the 45 sec. count down clock (if you want to give them
more time, don't click the clock until you want to activate, they can vote
as long as the green light is on); 4. Click to end the vote (or let the
clock run out, then click). You will then see a results slide. At the end of
each vote, I encourage you save the session.
After you get all your votes done, you will want to make a copy of the
report that is generated. At the conclusion of your session, click Session
Reports and save the session. You will have the option to export it as Excel
or html or csv. Html does the best job and is a smaller file.
If you are not familiar with Turning Point, I strongly suggest that you go
through the Powerpoint presentation with a receiver plugged in and vote with
a few clickers to see how it works and then generate a report. Please note
that if you have Windows XP instead of Windows 7 the menu will look slightly
different from what is shown on the attached pdf. However, everything works
the same.
Here is the link to some training documents, you will be using the
PowerPoint Polling for PC. I have also attached a pdf document. You will not
need to load any software; just plug in the receiver to your USB. You should
not have to verify the receiver channel either. Click on the directory for
the TT receiver on Windows Explorer. Doubleclick on Turning Point PC.
Doubleclick TurningPont.exe. WAIT until the entry screen shows up. Choose
PowerPoint Polling. Select the PowerPoint you altered from the file I have
attached to this email. Make sure the file doesn't have any response entered
yet. If it does, click reset.
