Fwd: 2015 Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Travel Scholarships Available

ANR Faculty,

Once again I am pleased to announce that there are travel scholarship 
dollars available from the Arizona Sustainable Agriculture Research and 
Education program.  These are funds designed to help Cooperative 
Extension faculty improve their sustainable agriculture professionalism 
by attending in- or out-of-state conferences or meetings that have a 
significant SA curriculum or focus.  For example, each year the National 
Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) provides an entire 
educational segment and several tours that are focused on sustainable 
agriculture.  Other professional organizations may also have similar 
opportunities.  In addition, there are a number of educational seminars 
and meetings held nationally that would also qualify.  These travel 
funds are intended to help defray expenses to attend these meetings.  
There is an application to fill out to apply and a requirement to fill 
out a learning summary at the conclusion of the event in order to 
qualify for the funds.

There also available limited funds to support Extension professional 
travel to instate meetings that are oriented towards a sustainable 
agriculture topic.  Last year there were several meetings hosted by 
Cooperative Extension that were supported in various ways through these 
funds.

Finally, I have on hand here in my office copies of key book titles from 
the national SARE office.  Any Extension person desiring a copy for your 
office, please let me know.  Book titles can be found at the SARE
