Important: Furlough and Salary Reduction Information

Dear Colleagues,

Since I last emailed regarding the Furlough and Salary Reduction programs, there have been several key developments.


  1.  Your furlough or flex hours are accurately calculated on the new ALVSCE Furlough Lookup<https://compass.arizona.edu/report/administration/alvsce-furlough-lookup>.  In the coming days, the Lookup will also show the number of furlough or flex hours you have taken and the remaining balance that you must still take.



  1.  The furlough "tile" on your landing page in UAccess Employee<https://employee851.uaccess.arizona.edu/psc/uazhrprd/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/NUI_FRAMEWORK.PT_LANDINGPAGE.GBL> may be missing or inaccurate.  Instead, use the new ALVSCE Furlough Lookup<https://compass.arizona.edu/report/administration/alvsce-furlough-lookup> for an accurate calculation.  The Senior Leadership Team's (SLT) exemptions of certain ALVSCE organizations have proven too complicated to incorporate into the tile.  Thank you to the ALVSCE Data Solutions Team who created the Lookup.


  1.  Faculty and staff will receive a refund in the September 25 paycheck IF they flipped into the Furlough program because of the SLT's decision to exempt Cooperative Extension and portions of the Arizona Experiment Station.  The amount of the refund is equal to the salary reduction on the employee's September 11 paycheck.


  1.  President Robbins announced on September 17 that the Furlough and Salary Reduction programs would be shortened.  Until definitive information is announced, please work with your supervisor to continue taking furlough or flex hours.
