ALVSCE Merit Process

Dear Colleagues,

As Shane said on January 29 at the Semi-annual Update, we will focus on YOU as a priority.  This year, just like every year since he arrived in 2011, Shane has prioritized funding an annual merit salary program.  Academic unit leaders prioritize these merit adjustments over all other important investments at annual Budget & Planning Retreats<https://compass.arizona.edu/content/budget-metrics>.

It is my pleasure to announce that an ALVSCE merit process for both faculty AND staff will be held again this fiscal year.  This process is separate from any university salary adjustment process.  Prior to UCAP, the three shared governance groups of faculty, classified staff, and appointed professionals merged their process guidance into a single document.  My thanks to them for their hard work.

To be meritorious in ALVSCE is a high bar and a high honor.  Annually, about 20% of ALVSCE employees receive merit adjustments.

Details on the merit program will be shared with unit leaders and business officers next week.  Salary adjustments will be realized on July 1 or August 17, depending on the recipient's appointment.
