Dear UPAC,

We would like to share some end-of-term updates for degree awarding in Spring 2025. We are pleased to announce that at this time, 90% of expected undergraduate degrees have been awarded for Spring 2025! Please take a moment to confirm or reach out to students who have not been awarded to support them in submitting any outstanding items.

For clarify, the Graduation Services Team would like to remind the advising community of the following definitions related to conferral process:

  1.  Degree Award date = specific day that a student’s degree is posted to their record.
  2.  Conferral date = last day of the term (standard for all careers).
  3.  Conferral cycle = each term will have a conferral cycle.  The conferral cycle lasts 45 calendar days, beginning with the conferral date for that specific term. The conferral cycle is applicable to all undergraduate and professional students.

Students resolving Incompletes, Grade Appeals and Petitions will be awarded for the term in which these items are fully resolved. For Spring 2025, the conferral cycle ends on June 30th, 2025.  This is the deadline to receiving pending items and award for Spring 2025.

Beginning July 1, any students who have not met degree requirements will have their Estimated Graduation Term (EGT) updated to the next available term.  Students will receive a notification from Graduation Services when their EGT is updated.

Once the conferral cycle for a term has concluded, students who satisfy remaining degree requirements through transfer, test or early session (5wk1, 7wk1, etc.) coursework may have their degree(s) posted prior to the end of the term in which they are completed.  This means a student could have their Summer 2025 degree awarded as soon as July 1st. This is a new process beginning in 2025.
