Hi Agvisors,

Happy Monday! I am sending this message out as a member of the newly established ALVSCE Staff Council (website will be added soon)! For those who may be unfamiliar, the Staff Council provides a forum to identify and discuss issues of significant interest to the staff of ALVSCE, raise awareness of staff contributions to the delivery of the missions of the division, create methods for staff connectivity and socialization, and provide a connection between the Division and the UArizona Staff Council. We aim to provide a voice for the staff in the Division of ALVSCE, whose foundational strategic intent is to be the most sought-after place to be a part of.

As such, I wanted to provide the following announcements:

  1.  Introduction to the ALVSCE Staff Council Members: The goal of the staff council is to represent all staff, near and far.  We have attempted to represent as many units as possible, and will continue to seek out participation in order to have everyone included.  The inaugural Staff Council members are listed below:

  1.  Upcoming ALVSCE Outstand Staff Award:  In the upcoming days, you will be receiving communication about the process for nominating an outstanding staff member for the ALVSCE Outstanding staff award, to be presented at the May 3, 2022 Award ceremony- keep a look out and nominate the amazing individuals you work with!
  2.  Invite to the Upcoming Staff Council Conversation with Dean Burgess:  please mark your calendars for an upcoming "Staff Council Conversation with Shane" scheduled for Tuesday, March 1 at 2:30.  Info will be sent out with zoom information soon.  For now, the council is gathering a list of topics/questions and we need your input!  Please follow the link provided below to provide: specific questions for Dean Burgess for the March 1 event, provide general feedback to be considered by the ALVSCE Staff Council as we organize future events, provide your interest in participation of the Staff Council.
