Greetings colleagues -

Fall semester is rapidly approaching and student service professionals have been hard at work orienting new students, supporting those in summer courses, and planning for an impactful academic year for our undergraduate students. To guide this work, many of us have been using the results from the CALS Annual Student Satisfaction Survey. We had a strong response at the end of spring semester and are proud to share the results. You will find the full report as well as an "Insights and Actions" document attached to this email for your review.

The top five insights are:

  1. Most CALS Students feel supported.
  2. Students want increased, proactive and personalized outreach from Academic Advisors.
  3. CALS can increase awareness about key services and engagement opportunities.
  4. Increasing equity promotes students feeling supported.
  5. Identifying the right mix of modalities will need to balance student needs and desired outcomes.

Please share these findings with your departments and any other individuals whom this information would be helpful.

Several presentations occurred throughout the summer with key groups of staff. If you would like more information or a presentation for your faculty or unit, please do not hesitate to connect with me.

Sincerely,
