Hello Agvisors,

It was wonderful to meet with you this morning and I hope you found it valuable. I know I found your questions to be really wonderful and help me think about what we can do to support you and develop resources for you and your students. I am always available for 1:1s with you or to meet with a group of you. I am looking forward to all that is ahead of us and to partnering on resources and workshops. As I said, and as I will always say, without you the Career Center cannot be successful.

Please see the note below form Liz Marsalla in the TJLC on an upcoming opportunity. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to apply and develop their transferrable skills. Encourage your students to create teams and participate.

Next week we are going to announce an opportunity for up to 500 eligible undergraduate students (ages 21-45) to receive a year-long membership to Tucson Young Professionals. This will open opportunities for students to network with other young professionals and Tucson leaders, develop their transferable skills on internal and external committees, engage in professional development workshops, and have a number of opportunities for mentorship. We are the first college to pursue this opportunity for our students and we are excited to embark on this partnership with TYP. We will share this broadly with students and faculty next week when we have the official announcement from TYP and I wanted to give you a heads up before that comes.

We also had wonderful success with the pre-qualification period for the USDA direct-hire event. We had 66 applicants which more than doubles the number from other schools they have partnered with. Thank you for getting the word out and encouraging your students to apply! This is the beginning of a very positive partnership with USDA on this type of event and I look forward to trying to do similar things with other employers.

One final thing, I am offering a chair yoga class tomorrow from 12:15pm-12:45pm. The idea is to offer you an opportunity to see how yoga can be done and is accessible in a very easy way. If you want to join the link is https://arizona.zoom.us/j/89159838780 - I hope to see you there!

I hope this message finds you all well. I wanted to share with you all a cool opportunity for students in any major to compete in a case competition and win some money! We are collaborating with CVS Health to host a virtual retail store-based case competition! The goal is to share with students what employers like CVS Health serve their communities and promote wellness at the intersection of retail and health.

Students will have until March 12th to get together a 2-4 person team and register using the form on the webpage<https://terryjlundgrencenter.org/2021CVSCaseComp>. The following Monday, March 15th, the group will receive the case competition guidelines. They will have the opportunity to present their ideas to CVS Health judges in less than 30 minutes on Monday, March 22nd to compete for $1,000 1st place prize and a $500 2nd place prize, split evenly among the group members.

While the case competition does have a retail-focused theme, the prompt will not be specific to only retail students. There will be the opportunity for non-retail students to be able to compete based on the prompt with some minimal research. We are hoping that students will find it to be inclusive of their strengths in a variety of majors.
